What should I wear?


Wear something comfortable. It is a great idea to wear layers so that you can remove a layer if you begin to get warm. Most men wear long sleeved shirts or t-shirts and athletic pants or shorts. Most women wear long sleeved shirts, tank tops or tighter fitting shirts (so that they won't come up when they bend over) and shorts, leggings, or capris. Yoga is practiced barefoot but you may also wear socks. Our studio is not a "hot studio" we have 30 foot ceilings so the room is not overly warm in the winter. We do have air conditioning but the space is large, in the summer, the stuido is in the mid 70s.




I'm not flexible, can I do yoga?


Yes! You are a perfect candidate for yoga. Many people think that they need to be flexible to begin yoga, but that's a little bit like thinking that you need to be able to play tennis in order to take tennis lessons. Come as you are and you will find that yoga practice will help you become more flexible. This newfound agility will be balanced by strength, coordination, and enhanced cardiovascular health, as well as a sense of physical confidence and overall well-being.




What should I bring to class?


Yourself! You will also want to bring a bottle of water and a mat. If you choose not to bring a mat, you may use one of our studio mats.




I've never done yoga before, can I join any class?


Our instructors are skilled at providing modifications during class that will assist beginners and even the most experienced yogis in various poses.





What Can I Expect?

Here’s what to expect when you come in for your first class:

 

  1. Our studio is located on the upper level of the Better Life Building, (historic South West State Bank Building). Click for Directions to 1517 S 12th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53081

  2. We have a nice parking lot in the back of the building, park behind the building and enter through the parking lot/east door. Inside, head straight, towards the glass door, turn left and go down the hall and up the stairs. 

  3. Our teacher will greet you at the top of the stairs with a giant smile.

  4. You’ll fill out a quick waiver & intake form and chat with the teacher about any special considerations for your practice. To save time when you get to the studio, fill out the intake form now.

  5. The teacher will give you a tour of our gorgeous, historic studio, including where you can change, use the bathroom, grab a mat, etc.

  6. While we have all of the equipment you will need, feel free to bring your own mat. You may also want to bring a bottle of water.

 

Then, you’ll dive into your first class!

 

Please arrive 10 MINUTES early so that we can get to know you and give you the insider tour of the studio space. We are excited to meet you and welcome you into our Sunshine Community!
